Green

While Fiandre is proud to be recognized worldwide for the design and manufacture of exclusive architectural surfacing solutions, we are equally proud to be recognized worldwide for our environmental efforts – our Legacy of Green.
Respecting and protecting nature has been an important part of Fiandre’s corporate philosophy since our initial startup in 1961, in the town of Castellarano, Italy, before environmental responsibility was ever mandated. Today, we continue our extraordinary environmental commitment and stewardship at our state-of-the-art production facilities located in Italy, Germany, and the United States.
We understand that a company’s environmental legacy begins with corporate values, and that corporate values must be supported by their people, systems, and actions to bring about positive results.

People

The environmental concern and integrity of the people who work at Fiandre are the foundation of our Legacy of Green. Everyone at Fiandre – including staff and contractors – adhere to our environmental values and practices.

Systems

Our environmental management system measures and manages production processes, logistics, maintenance, microclimate, water cycle, wastes, internal recycling, energy consumption, and characteristics of the production site.

Actions

Since 1995, Fiandre’s European facilities have operated under the strict guidelines of UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
We hold the European Union Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) designation for exceeding minimum legal compliance and continuously improving environmental performance.

Results

On September 12, 2000, we became the first porcelain tile manufacturer in the world to achieve the specific requirements of UNI EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
In 2003, our Legacy of Green continued with the Fiandre Group’s construction of a new facility in Cumberland County, Tennessee, utilizing state-of-the-art environmental technology that ensured a sustainable manufacturing process from the beginning of the plant’s operation.
